NO. THIS IS FALSE.
First of all: define ‘word.’
Second of all: they have many different grammatical and lexical pathways for discussing snow, but the snow itself is the same white puffy shit coming down. WE have different ‘words for snow’ - packing snow, light snow, powdery snow, slushy snow… It’s the way we discuss it that changes. For instance, snow that covers your car, snow that melts on your coat, snow that’s good for snowmen, snow that’s pretty, fake snow, etc.
Third of all: The love that matters most is between yourself and your closest friends/family, blood ties or not, as well as genuine love for what you do. I love my parents and my relatives and my friends and the music I’m currently listening to (produced by Chris Thile, my friends.. the guy is awesome but I’m more in love with his voice/songs than him, considering I don’t actually know him?) more than I think I’ve ever ‘loved’ a particular guy.
… Oh my gosh. Linguistic anthropology has turned me into the biggest nerd in the universe. Oh well.
